Last updated: 11.09.2025
At Drivly, we care about your privacy. This statement explains which personal data we process, why and how. If you have questions about its contents or wish to exercise your rights, you can contact us at support@drivly.no or via chat at support.drivly.com/en.
Personal data we process
Which personal data is processed depends on the features you use and, in some cases, on the data you choose to share with us. Read more below about what personal data is collected.
Creating an account
When you create an account in the app, you must register with a phone number, which is used for login and authentication. Beyond this, we do not require any other personal data, but you may choose to share your name, email address, date of birth and address. Certain information is required in order to use optional features in the app.
Use of our services
While you use our services, we record various activity in order to deliver and improve the services. This includes, among other things, technical data about the device, the browser, app version, IP address, timestamps for events and similar. This information is used for statistical purposes, as well as for detecting errors that occur during use of the app.
Purchasing a subscription
When you purchase a subscription, we record the chosen subscription, the amount, the time and the necessary transaction references, but we do not store complete card details. We use third parties to administer your subscription, and the data processor depends on your phone's operating system.
Contacting support
If you contact us via email or chat, we process the contents of the conversation and relevant metadata in order to help you as best we can. The support agent who responds to you will have limited access to your account in order to provide the best possible service. This includes, among other things, your name, phone number, progress and practice history, previous conversations with support, details about your subscription and more.
Sharing personal data
Personal data may be shared with suppliers who provide operations, storage, security, measurement, customer support, communications and payment processing on our behalf, where this is necessary to deliver the service. These suppliers process the data in accordance with our instructions and appropriate security measures, and comply with the applicable privacy regulations for your chosen country.
In individual cases, we may disclose personal data where required, for example to public authorities, in the event of suspected unlawful conduct.
Data retention and deletion
Information is stored for as long as it is necessary for the purposes described here, or for as long as the law requires.
Account data and content linked to the account are deleted or anonymised when the account is closed, except for information that must be retained for longer by law. Transaction and accounting records are retained in accordance with applicable bookkeeping rules. Technical logs and analytics data are retained for periods proportionate to their purposes before being anonymised or deleted.
Your rights
You may have the right to ask us to:
- Share which personal data we have stored about you and how it is processed.
- Update personal data we have stored about you.
- Delete information that we no longer have grounds to retain.
- Restrict or stop the processing of your information.
- Withdraw any consents you have given us.
Please be aware that there are limitations to these rights. Feel free to contact us if you would like more information about this.
If you believe we process personal data in breach of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority. Before doing so, please contact us so that we can answer your questions or clear up any misunderstandings.
Storage of information about minors
Our services are not intended for persons under the age of 13 without a parent/guardian's consent. If we become aware that we are processing information about children below this age without the necessary consent, we will delete the information.
Marketing
We want to help you pass the theory test as quickly as possible, and we may therefore send you push notifications, emails and SMS if you have given us your consent. We sometimes use basic account information to tailor our marketing, recommendations and offers. In addition, notifications may be personalised to you using practice history from the app.
Changes to this statement
Where necessary, we may update the privacy policy, with the date of the last change appearing at the top of the document. In the event of significant changes that may have a greater impact on you as a user, we will give advance notice via email before the changes take effect.
